INCOMING

What miracles burst forth from tiny seeds to welcome community with others. Florida’s robust growers, the sunflowers, offer habitat, nectar, and fun to a plethora of passersby. A ‘Mammoth’ planted in my backyard topped out at 8 feet to attract bees, butterflies, ants, spiders, birds, and one delighted photographer.

PRAISE EACH DAY

I praise each day splintered down, and wrapped in time like a husk of many colors spreading at dawn fast over the mountain split. ~Annie Dillard

Peonies 'Fly Me to the Moon'

A sensitive plant in a garden grew. And the young winds fed it with silver dew, And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light, and closed them beneath the kisses of night.~Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant," 1820

I am not bound for any public place, but for ground of my own where I have planted vines and orchard trees, and in the heat of the day climbed up into the healing shadow of the woods.Better than any argument is to rise at dawn and pick dew-wet red berries in a cup. ~Wendell Berry
